I came to intimately know and
love our A-bu after she came over to the USA in 1970 and had mostly
lived with us since. I was at the time living in New York City with
my Mi-e 美重 and three young daughters, whom A-bu helped to nurture
and raise with us. I was quite impressed by her sharp intelligence,
deep and wide-ranging wisdom, and loving kindness. These talents are
all her divine gifts, deeply committed as she was to the God of
Christ. A-bu was wholeheartedly committed to helping widows and
young children, orphans, so
lonely and helpless. A-bu was
so zealous about assisting them that she even once asked me to lend
her funds so she could help them in need. A-bu has benefited me
enormously, especially by sharing with me her spiritual experience.
She used to teach me Romanized Taiwanese so I could read the
Taiwanese Bible. Every time I open the Bible I hear her voice, even
now. I miss her wholeheartedly.
