柯設偕．柯蕭美玉紀念碑

柯設偕．柯蕭美玉紀念碑，設置在淡水馬偕墓園內，柯設偕先生的令尊柯維思先生的旁邊，也正好位於他們的兒女－柯叡理、柯瑪利、柯仁美的上方，紀念碑以淡江中學校徽造型設計。淡江中學管理馬偕博士家族墓園，並於2005年3月12日正式舉行柯設偕、柯蕭美玉紀念碑落成禮拜。碑文見於《淡江中學通訊》，如下：

柯設偕 SETH MACKAY KO 1900年2月8日∼1990年11月20日

馬偕博士（Dr. George Leslie Mackay）的外孫，馬偕博士第二女兒偕以利女士與得意門生柯維思先生的獨生子。淡江中學首屆畢業生，日本同志社中學、大學預科畢業，京都帝國大學史學部深造，台北帝國大學（今台灣大學）文政學部首屆畢業，獲文學士學位。1931年台大畢後，回母校獻身教育工作約40年，任教英文法、地理、歷史、音樂、生物等課程，授課精彩生動，學生們稱他是「活字典」。曾任橄欖球、棒球教練、教務主任、代理校長、顧問等職。他愛學生的真情有如自己的兒女，深受後輩學生的愛戴與懷念，特立此碑以記念柯設偕老師服務淡江中學的不朽貢獻。

Our beloved teacher Mr. Seth Mackay Ko （February 8, 1900 - November 20, 1990） was the grandson of Dr. George Leslie Mackay and only son of Bella Catherine Mackay and I-Su Ko.

He was a member of the first graduating class of Tam-Kang High School . He then studied in Japan, graduating from Doshisha High School and Doshisha Junior College. He at tended Kyoto University, majoring in history, before earning his Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Taiwan University in 1931.Mr. Ko then returned to Tam-Kang High School to teach English grammar, geography, history, music, and biology. His proficiency in all subjects earned him the nickname "The Living Dictionary" among his students. Mr. Ko also coached rugby and baseball and served as Act ing Principal , Dean of Education, and Advisor. He retired in 1966. In special honor and memory of Mr. Seth Mackay Ko for his dedication to Tam-Kang High School .

柯蕭美玉 MEI－YU SHAW KO 1899年11月3日∼1998年9月23日

馬偕博士外孫柯設偕先生的夫人，為蕭安居牧師與陳真仁女士的次女。淡水女學院畢業。在校期間追隨淡江中學校舍設計者－羅虔益（Kenneth Dowie）的夫人學習鋼琴，並榮獲背誦聖經比賽第一名。畢業後留在母校教授鋼琴並任職舍監，她的教學座右銘：「上帝的話語是我們靈性的糧食，要牢記在心，而且要應用在日常生活中」。1947年當淡江中學陷入苦境時期，美玉老師挺身援助丈夫柯設偕先生處理複雜校務，使母校恢復正常，她的用心與奉獻，深令後輩淡江學子懷念，特立此碑記念柯蕭美玉老師對母校的不朽貢獻。

Our beloved teacher, Mrs. Mei-Yu Shaw Ko （November 3, 1899 -September 23, 1998）, second daughter of Pastor An-Ku Shaw and Chin-Jin Chen and wife of Seth Mackay Ko. Mrs. Ko graduated from Tamsui Girls' School . She then remained at the school to teach piano and serve as

house mother in the girls' dormitory. Mrs. Ko's favorite saying to teach her students was： "God's word is our spiritual nourishment . We have to keep it in our heart and apply it to our daily life."

In special honor and memory of Mrs. Mei-Yu Shaw Ko for her dedicat ion to Tam-Kang High School .
