Kau-a and I went by Pat-li-hun(八里坌) to IN-khut-a.(圓窟仔) Arranged to repair Ch. and assist $ 25. Then to Lam-kham(南崁). Worship in eve. 52 present. I spoke on John XIV:27 1897.04.04 Sun Lam-kham(南崁), I bap. belong to and 4 from KhiN-a Ordained 2 Deacons for Lam-kham and one for KhiN-a Observed Lord’s supper 25 in number. 71 at worship. Kau-a and I went to Bang-kah.(艋舺) 1897.04.11 Sun. We went to Japanese church at 9 A.M. I preached on Heb XIII.8 Bap. two males—Ordained one Elder and observed the Lord’s Supper. Natives also present. Had Japanese and native singing, reading and praying. Students met in the Col. 6.30 P.M. 12th 1897.04.12 Mon. Mist. we came out to Tamsui(淡水) Hos. met in the Col. at 6.30 P.M. 1897.04.13 Tues. A Canadian came from the Steamer ‘Siam’ came with tooth-ache. I extr. Two teeth for him. Hos. at noon. Plague in the town. Went in Col. 1897.04.14 Wed. Mist on the mountain. Sun hot later in the day. Thunder. Hos. at noon. Col. in eve. 1897.04.15 Thurs. Rain and wind. Thunder clouds and thunder rolling, Kau-a and I went to see a man and water-buffalo that were killed by lightening. Hos. at noon. Kau-a and I went in to Bang-kah.(艋舺) Toatiu-tiaN bap. 19.—62 observed the Lord’s supper and 160 were hearers. Queen’s Jubilee 1897.04.18 Sun. At 10 A.M. we went to Toa-tiu-tiaN (大稻埕)and I preached on Heb. XIII.8 160 hearers – I bap. 19. and 62 grown up people observed the Lord’s Supper. We ordained Li-chhung-seng as Elder. (李春生為長老) We came out at 4.30 P.M. and met in the Col. at 6.30 P.M. 1897.04.19 Mon. Hot. Hos. at noon. Col. in eve. 1897.04.20 Tues Sultry. Hos. Col. at 6.30 P.M 1897.04.21 Wed.
